Exercise 1: Word bingo

Exercise 2: Dialogue

Instruction: 1. Read the dialogue in pairs. 2. Memorize the phrases by covering the translation. 3. Cover one speaker’s lines, give alternative answers with your teacher, and write them down.

Carlos, in the master's programme, gives advice to Eva, who is starting her degree, about attending classes.
1. Carlos: ¿Cómo te ha ido en tu primer día en la universidad? (How has your first day at university been?)
2. Eva: Muy bien, estoy muy emocionada. (Very well, I am very excited.)
3. Carlos: Te entiendo. Yo ya estoy en el máster, pero tú has empezado el grado, ¿verdad? (I understand you. I am already in the master's program, but you have started the undergraduate degree, right?)
4. Eva: Sí, exactamente. Este es mi primer año. (Yes, exactly. This is my first year.)
5. Carlos: No te preocupes, es normal. ¿Ya has pagado la matrícula? (Don't worry, it's normal. Have you already paid the enrollment fee?)
6. Eva: Sí, ya la he pagado. Todavía no sé si es obligatorio ir a clase. (Yes, I have already paid it. I still don't know if attending classes is mandatory.)
7. Carlos: No es obligatorio, pero te recomiendo que vayas. Es importante para tu formación. (It is not mandatory, but I recommend you go. It is important for your education.)
8. Eva: ¿Y si no puedo ir a todas las clases? (And what if I can't attend all the classes?)
9. Carlos: Si tienes beca, tienes que asistir. Si no, depende de ti. (If you have a scholarship, you have to attend. If not, it's up to you.)
10. Eva: También me han hablado de las guías docentes, ¿qué son? (They also told me about the course guides, what are they?)
11. Carlos: Son los programas de las asignaturas. Te ayudan a saber qué incluye el curso. (They are the course syllabi. They help you know what the course includes.)
