Exercise 2: Dialogue

Un grupo de amigos se reúne un viernes por la noche para cocinar, jugar y pasar un buen rato juntos.

A group of friends gets together on a Friday night to cook, play, and have a good time together.
1. Juan: ¿Has traído el ajedrez? Hace mucho que no jugamos. (Did you bring the chess set? It's been a long time since we played.)
2. Sofía: Sí, y también he traído unos juegos de mesa por si nos animamos después. (Yes, and I also brought some board games in case we feel like it later.)
3. Juan: Perfecto. Yo voy a preparar la tortilla de patatas antes de que lleguen todos. (Perfect. I'm going to make the Spanish omelette before everyone arrives.)
4. Sofía: Vale, tú haz la tortilla y yo he traído cava para hacer un brindis luego. (Okay, you make the omelette and I brought cava so we can make a toast later.)
5. Juan: ¡Qué guay! He puesto los platos en la mesa y también he encendido unas velas. (How cool! I've put the plates on the table and I've also lit some candles.)
6. Sofía: Genial. Voy a dejar el ramo de flores en la cocina, huele súper bien. (Great. I'm going to leave the bouquet of flowers in the kitchen, it smells really good.)
7. Juan: ¿Sacamos algo de aperitivo mientras se hace la tortilla? (Shall we get out some appetizers while the omelette is cooking?)
8. Sofía: Sí, y después jugamos a las cartas, como en las noches de verano de antes. (Yes, and then we'll play cards, like on those summer nights from back then.)
9. Juan: Me acuerdo de lo competitivos que éramos... nos poníamos contentísimos al ganar. (I remember how competitive we were... we were so happy when we won.)
10. Sofía: Y alguien siempre hacía trampa, no digo nombres... (And someone always cheated, I'm not naming names...)
11. Juan: Todos lo sabemos ya. ¿Has preguntado a los demás si les apetece salir después o quedarse aquí? (We all know already. Did you ask the others if they feel like going out later or staying here?)
