Exercise 1: Match a word

Instruction: Match the items that have a related meaning.

la maleta — el equipaje (the suitcase — the luggage)
llenar la maleta — poner ropa en la maleta (to pack the suitcase — to put clothes in the suitcase)
deshacer la maleta — vaciar la maleta (to unpack the suitcase — to empty the suitcase)
mejor llevar poco — es más práctico llevar poco (it's better to take little — it's more practical to take little)

(Carry-on baggage rules (domestic flight))

Aviso para pasajeros (vuelos dentro de España): en clase económica puedes llevar un accesorio personal ( o ) que quepa debajo del asiento y una pequeña de cabina. El de mano no debe superar el peso indicado en tu billete.

Recuerda: los líquidos deben ir en envases de hasta 100 ml y en una bolsa transparente. Si llevas , o gafas de sol, colócalos en el compartimento para el control. Para dos noches, es mejor llevar poca ropa: añade y un . No pongas objetos frágiles en el equipaje facturado.
Notice to passengers (flights within Spain): in economy class you can bring one personal item (handbag or backpack) that fits under the seat and a small carry-on suitcase. Your carry-on baggage must not exceed the weight shown on your ticket.

Remember: liquids must be in containers of up to 100 ml and placed in a transparent bag. If you bring a charger, laptop, or sunglasses, put them in the tray for the security check. For two nights, it’s best to pack light: add underwear and pajamas. Do not put fragile items in checked baggage.

For tomorrow’s flight to Madrid, HR booked us a basic fare. We can only bring carry-on luggage: a small suitcase (55 x 40 x 20) and a handbag or backpack. Remember the liquids rule: a maximum of 100 ml per container.

I’m bringing my laptop, the charger, and clothes for two days. What are you bringing? Are you taking sunscreen in your carry-on?

Hola Lucía:

Gracias por la información. Yo voy a llevar una mochila y la maleta pequeña. En la maleta pongo ropa para dos días, ropa interior y un pijama. También llevaré el cargador y mis gafas de sol.

Sobre la crema solar, creo que se puede llevar en cabina si el bote es de 100 ml o menos. ¿Puedes confirmarme si además hay que meterla en una bolsa transparente?

Thanks for the information. I’m going to bring a backpack and the small suitcase. In the suitcase I’m packing clothes for two days, underwear, and pajamas. I’ll also bring the charger and my sunglasses.

As for the sunscreen, I think you can take it in your carry-on as long as the bottle is 100 ml or less. Can you confirm whether it also has to go in a clear, plastic bag?
