María es una ingeniera que vive en Madrid. Trabaja muchas horas entre semana, así que el sábado por la mañana le gusta de tiendas por su barrio y no ir al .
Primero va a la . Allí compra naranjas y plátanos. El la conoce y siempre le recomienda la fruta más fresca. Después pasa por la para comprar pollo para la cena del domingo.
Más tarde entra en la panadería. El le prepara una barra de pan y unos bollos. A María le encanta el olor del pan caliente. Luego visita la tienda de regalos, porque la semana que viene es el cumpleaños de una compañera de trabajo. Encuentra una taza bonita y una tarjeta en la de la esquina.
Por último, María va a la tienda de electrónica. Quiere unos auriculares que compró la semana pasada, porque no funcionan bien. Hace cola unos minutos, pero el cliente delante de ella tiene un problema largo con el ticket. Al final, el dependiente le devuelve el dinero sin problema.
María vuelve a casa contenta. Piensa que en su barrio hay casi de todo: tiendas pequeñas, trato personal y buena calidad, así como buenos precios.María is an engineer who lives in Madrid. She works long hours during the week, so on Saturday mornings she likes to shop around her neighborhood rather than go to the shopping mall.
First she goes to the greengrocer. There she buys oranges and bananas. The shop assistant knows her and always recommends the freshest fruit. Afterwards she stops by the butcher’s to buy chicken for Sunday dinner.
Later she goes into the bakery. The baker prepares a loaf of bread and some pastries for her. María loves the smell of freshly baked bread. Then she visits the gift shop because next week it’s a coworker’s birthday. She finds a pretty mug and a card at the stationery store on the corner.
Finally, María goes to the electronics store. She wants to return some headphones she bought last week because they don’t work properly. She waits in line for a few minutes, but the customer in front of her has a long issue with their receipt. In the end, the shop assistant refunds her money without any problem.
María returns home happy. She thinks that in her neighborhood there is almost everything: small shops, personal service, good quality, and fair prices.
