Consulta para mejorar la dieta

Nutricionista (Laura): Show Hola, David.

(Hi, David. Tell me—what’s your diet like on a typical day? What do you usually eat and drink?)

(Well, I have cereal for breakfast. At lunchtime I usually eat something quick, and in the afternoon I snack on whatever I can grab. Also, I drink quite a lot of soda.)

Nutricionista (Laura): Show Vale.

(Okay. To stay better hydrated, you should swap soda for water and, from time to time, have some fresh orange juice.)

Paciente (David): Show Tiene sentido.

(That makes sense. I want something healthy and balanced, but I don’t have much time to cook.)

(Let’s make a simple weekly meal plan: two days of rice with tuna and lettuce, and another two days of chicken with salad. Beef once a week, because it’s heavier.)

Paciente (David): Show Perfecto. Y para la merienda, ¿qué me recomiendas? Ahí es donde fallo.

(Perfect. And for an afternoon snack—what do you recommend? That’s where I go wrong.)

Hola, Laura.

Hi, Laura. I’m Dani from the team 😊

This week I want to eat healthier. At the office I’m always snacking on something and then I feel sluggish. Do you feel like putting together a weekly menu so we can bring our own food?

I can cook rice with vegetables and chicken, and also salad with tuna. What do you usually have for a snack? I drink soda… and it’s not very healthy. Want to meet up one day to go for a 30-minute walk?

Useful phrases:

  1. Podemos hacer un menú semanal que...

(We can put together a weekly menu that...)

  2. Yo suelo merendar..., pero quiero cambiar a...

(I usually have ... for a snack, but I want to switch to...)

(If you’d like, we can meet on... to go for a walk.)

¿A qué hora te va bien?

Hi Dani, I think it’s a really good idea. We can put together a weekly menu that’s easy to bring to the office. I can make lettuce with tomato and tuna, and also rice with vegetables. I can eat chicken two days and beef one day, but without much sauce.

For a snack, I usually have fruit or yogurt and drink water. You could swap the soda you drink every day for orange juice sometimes, or just water.

If you’d like, we can meet on Wednesday after work to walk for 30 minutes. What time works for you?
