U heeft een sollicitatiegesprek in een groot kantoorgebouw in Utrecht. In de e-mail staat: “Meld u bij de receptie op de verdieping.” In de hal ziet u de lift en een bord met: begane grond, , , , en verdieping. U wilt geen fout maken en het gesprek niet missen.

Bij de receptie vraagt u waar het bedrijf is. De medewerker zegt: “Uw gesprek is op de verdieping, kamer 305. Eerst gaat u met de lift omhoog. Daarna gaat u . De kamer is de deur aan de linkerkant.” U herhaalt dit in uw hoofd om het te : “Derde verdieping, kamer 305, vierde deur links.”
You have a job interview in a large office building in Utrecht. The email says: “Report to the reception on the first floor.” In the lobby you see an elevator and a sign that reads: ground floor, first, second, third, fourth and fifth floor. You don't want to make a mistake and miss the interview.

At the reception you ask where the company is. The staff member says: “Your interview is on the third floor, room 305. First take the elevator up. Then turn left. The room is the fourth door on the left.” You repeat this in your head to remember it: “Third floor, room 305, fourth door on the left.”
