Exercise 2: Dialogue

Instruction: Read the dialogue and answer the questions.

Eén maand later in het nieuwe huis belt Jochem met de klantenservice over apparaten die niet goed werken.

One month later in the new house, Jochem calls the customer service about appliances that are not working properly.
1. Jochem : Hallo, met Jochem. Ik heb een probleem met mijn vaatwasser. (Hello, this is Jochem. I have a problem with my dishwasher.)
2. Sterre: Goedemiddag Jochem. Wat is er precies aan de hand? (Good afternoon, Jochem. What exactly is the problem?)
3. Jochem : De vaatwasser start, maar stopt na een paar minuten weer. (The dishwasher starts, but then stops again after a few minutes.)
4. Sterre: Dat is vervelend. Brandt er een rood lampje op het apparaat? (That's frustrating. Is there a red light on the machine?)
5. Jochem : Ja, dat zie ik. Ik weet niet wat het betekent. (Yes, I see it. I don't know what it means.)
6. Sterre: Dat lampje betekent meestal dat er te weinig water komt. (That light usually means that there isn’t enough water.)
7. Jochem : Kan het ook aan de kraan onder de gootsteen liggen? (Could it also be the tap under the sink?)
8. Sterre: Ja, kijk even of de kraan helemaal open is. (Yes, check if the tap is fully open.)
9. Jochem : Even kijken... ja, hij stond half dicht. Ik zet hem nu helemaal open. (Let me see… yes, it was half-closed. I'm opening it fully now.)
10. Sterre: Prima. Probeer de vaatwasser nog eens aan te zetten en kijk wat er gebeurt. (Alright. Try turning the dishwasher on again and see what happens.)
