Exercise 2: Dialogue

Instruction: Read the dialogue and answer the questions.

Collega's Joost en Veerle maken een wandeling tijdens hun pauze op het werk en bekijken de Amsterdamse gebouwen.

1. Joost: Wat een mooie stad! Ik zie hier veel grote gebouwen. (What a beautiful city! I see many tall buildings here.)
2. Veerle: Ja, voor het platte Nederland zijn deze gebouwen in Amsterdam best groot. (Yes, for flat Netherlands, these buildings in Amsterdam are quite tall.)
3. Joost: Kijk daar eens, die hoge toren met een brede basis. Heel mooi. (Look over there, that tall tower with a wide base. Very beautiful.)
4. Veerle: Ik vind dat vierkante gebouw naast die toren eigenlijk mooier. (Actually, I think the square building next to that tower is nicer.)
5. Joost: Dat met het driehoekige dak? Dat is ons kantoor. (The one with the triangular roof? That’s our office.)
6. Veerle: Ik weet het, daarom vind ik het zo mooi. (I know, that’s why I like it so much.)
7. Joost: Ik vind dat vierkante gebouw daar leuker. Het is specialer. (I prefer that square building over there. It’s more unique.)
