Exercise 1: Listening comprehension

Instruction: Watch the video and recognize the vocabulary. Then answer the questions below.

Het is makkelijk om een rookmelder op te hangen. (It’s easy to install a smoke detector.)
Je kunt dit doen met schroeven of met tape. (You can do this with screws or with tape.)
Test altijd de rookmelder en de batterij na het ophangen. (Always test the smoke detector and its battery after installation.)
Een rookmelder gaat meestal 10 jaar mee. Test de rookmelder elke maand. (A smoke detector usually lasts about 10 years. Test it every month.)

Exercise 2: Dialogue

Instruction: Read the dialogue and answer the questions.

Christiaan verhuist voor zijn nieuwe baan. Roos, een makelaar, laat hem de kamers zien terwijl hij vragen stelt over werkruimte en rookmelders.

Christiaan is moving for his new job. Roos, an estate agent, shows him the rooms while he asks questions about workspace and smoke detectors.
1. Christiaan: Hallo, ik ben Christiaan. Ik heb een afspraak om het huis te bekijken. (Hello, I’m Christiaan. I have an appointment to view the house.)
2. Roos: Welkom Christiaan, fijn dat u er bent. We beginnen hier in de hal. (Welcome Christiaan, glad you’re here. We’ll start here in the hallway.)
3. Christiaan: Ik zie dat de woonkamer hiernaast heel ruim is en veel licht heeft. (I see the living room next door is very spacious and gets plenty of light.)
4. Roos: Dat klopt. Naast de woonkamer zijn de keuken en de tuin. (That’s right. Next to the living room are the kitchen and the garden.)
