Hoi, hoe gaat het? Hi, how are you?
Hé, hey of hai Hé, hey or hai
Ik zeg gewoon: goedemorgen of goedemiddag. Ik ben netjes en vriendelijk. (I just say: good morning or good afternoon. I'm polite and friendly.)
In Nederland zeggen we goedemiddag, goedenavond en fijne avond. (In the Netherlands we say good afternoon, good evening and have a nice evening.)
Als het vroeg is, loop ik meestal gewoon naar binnen. (If it's early, I usually just walk in.)
Dan ben ik nog niet echt aanspreekbaar. (Then I'm not really approachable yet.)
Anders zeg ik gewoon: hoi. (Otherwise I just say: hi.)
Bij sommige mensen zeggen we lieve schat. (With some people we say dear sweetheart.)
Bij anderen zeggen we gewoon: hoi of: Hoe gaat het, meneer? Goedemorgen. (With others we just say: hi or: How are you, sir? Good morning.)
We zeggen meestal hai of hoi. (We usually say hai or hi.)
Soms zeg ik niks en loop ik de les in en ga ik zitten. (Sometimes I don't say anything and walk into the lesson and sit down.)
Als een leraar goed is en ik een goede band met hem heb, zeg ik goedemiddag en maak ik een klein gesprek. (If a teacher is good and I have a good relationship with him, I say good afternoon and make a little conversation.)

1. Rik: Hoi, goedemorgen! Welkom in de buurt. Wat leuk je te zien. (Hi, good morning! Welcome to the neighborhood. Nice to see you.)
2. Emma: Hallo! Dank je wel. Ik ben Emma. En jij? (Hello! Thank you. I'm Emma. And you?)
3. Rik: Ik heet Rik. Leuk je te ontmoeten. Hoe gaat het? (My name is Rik. Nice to meet you. How are you?)
4. Emma: Goed, dank je. Ik ben net verhuisd. Ik kom uit Eindhoven. (Good, thank you. I just moved. I'm from Eindhoven.)
5. Rik: Ah, wat leuk! Ik woon al drie jaar in deze straat. (Ah, how nice! I've been living on this street for three years already.)
6. Emma: Oh, leuk. (Oh, nice.)
7. Rik: Ga je vanavond naar het buurtfeest? (Are you going to the neighborhood party tonight?)
8. Emma: Ja, ik zie je daar! (Yes, I'll see you there!)
9. Rik: Ja, gezellig. Tot vanavond! (Yes, nice. See you tonight!)
