Primo: lo spezzato deve mostrare un forte contrasto tra giacca e pantaloni. (First: the spezzato should show a strong contrast between the jacket and the trousers.)
La soluzione più semplice è giacca scura e pantaloni chiari, ma con più esperienza si può fare anche il contrario. (The easiest solution is a dark jacket with light trousers, but with experience you can also do the reverse.)
Secondo: evitate il tono su tono, cioè quasi lo stesso colore per giacca e pantaloni. (Second: avoid tone-on-tone — that is, nearly the same color for both jacket and trousers.)
Terzo: la giacca deve essere indipendente e non presa da un abito classico. (Third: the jacket should be a separate piece, not taken from a classic matching suit.)
Quarto: scegliete tessuti diversi, per esempio giacca in fresco lana e pantaloni in cotone. (Fourth: choose different fabrics, for example a lightweight wool jacket with cotton trousers.)
Ricordate che lo spezzato è informale e non va bene per eventi formali come un matrimonio. (Remember that the spezzato is casual and isn’t appropriate for formal events like a wedding.)
