Lo spezzato deve mostrare un forte contrasto tra giacca e pantaloni. (Separates should show a strong contrast between the jacket and the trousers.)

Francesco e Giulia devono partecipare a una cena aziendale. Francesco non sa cosa mettere e chiede consigli a Giulia.

Francesco and Giulia have to attend a company dinner. Francesco doesn’t know what to wear and asks Giulia for advice.
1. Francesco: Giulia, cosa pensi di indossare per l'evento di stasera? (Giulia, what do you think of wearing for tonight’s event?)
2. Giulia: Pensavo di mettere il mio vestito nero. E tu? (I was thinking of wearing my black dress. And you?)
3. Francesco: Non lo so. Pensavo di mettere uno spezzato: alla fine è un evento abbastanza informale. (I don’t know. I was thinking of wearing a blazer-and-trousers combo: after all, it’s a fairly informal event.)
4. Giulia: Mi sembra una buona idea! Puoi mettere quella giacca blu che ti ho regalato per il compleanno. (That seems like a good idea! You can wear that blue jacket I gave you for your birthday.)
5. Francesco: Perfetto, però non so cos'altro abbinare. (Perfect, but I don’t know what else to match it with.)
6. Giulia: Secondo me, con quella giacca stanno bene un pantalone beige e una camicia bianca. (In my opinion, beige trousers and a white shirt go well with that jacket.)
7. Francesco: Cosa ne pensi se metto anche un gilè o una cravatta? (What do you think if I also wear a waistcoat or a tie?)
8. Giulia: La cravatta va bene, ma il gilè assolutamente no! (The tie is fine, but absolutely not the waistcoat!)
9. Francesco: Va bene, grazie per i consigli. Vado a cambiarmi. (Alright, thanks for the advice. I’m going to get changed.)
10. Giulia: Hai per caso visto le mie calze? Non riesco proprio a trovarle. (Have you happened to see my socks? I really can’t find them.)
