In questa stanza riceviamo telefonate di ogni tipo e capiamo di che cosa si tratta. (In this room, we receive all kinds of phone calls and figure out what they’re about.)
Inseriamo la richiesta di soccorso nel computer e nel database. (We enter the request for assistance into the computer and the database.)
Il sistema mostra subito la squadra più vicina che può intervenire. (The system immediately shows the nearest team that can respond.)
Quando registro la richiesta, tutti i computer della sala possono vederla. (When I log the request, all the computers in the room can see it.)
Il mio collega può già inviare la squadra di soccorso più vicina. (My colleague can then dispatch the nearest rescue team.)
In questo modo posso restare in linea con il richiedente fino all'arrivo dei soccorsi. (That way, I can stay on the line with the caller until help arrives.)
Quando c'è un incendio molto grande, arrivano molte chiamate. (When there is a very large fire, many calls come in.)
Dobbiamo rispondere a tutte le chiamate per controllare che parlino dello stesso evento. (We have to answer all the calls to make sure they’re talking about the same incident.)
Con questa console posso attivare l'interfono in tutte le stanze per chiamare le partenze. (With this console, I can activate the intercom in all the rooms to call out the crews.)
Posso anche usare la radio per comunicare con le squadre in tutta la provincia. (I can also use the radio to communicate with the teams throughout the province.)

A lady calls the firefighters about a kitchen fire
1. Il vigile del fuoco: Salve, vigili del fuoco. Come posso aiutarla? (Hello, firefighters. How can I help you?)
2. La signora: Buongiorno, c'è un incendio nella mia cucina! Ho bisogno di aiuto subito! (Good morning, there is a fire in my kitchen! I need help right away!)
3. Il vigile del fuoco: Va bene. Mi può dire che cosa è successo? (All right. Can you tell me what happened?)
4. La signora: Ero in cucina a cucinare e, all'improvviso, ho sentito odore di bruciato che veniva dal forno. (I was in the kitchen cooking and, all of a sudden, I smelled something burning coming from the oven.)
5. Il vigile del fuoco: Ho capito. Mi dica l'indirizzo, per favore. (I understand. Tell me the address, please.)
6. La signora: Via Roma 33, Firenze. Abito al terzo piano. (Via Roma 33, Florence. I live on the third floor.)
7. Il vigile del fuoco: Va bene. Ci sono persone nell'edificio? (All right. Are there people in the building?)
8. La signora: No. Ho fatto uscire tutti dal condominio, adesso non c'è più nessuno. (No. I got everyone out of the apartment building, now there is no one left.)
9. Il vigile del fuoco: Molto bene, signora. Ci sono feriti? (Very good, ma'am. Are there any injured people?)
10. La signora: No, però alcune persone hanno respirato il fumo. (No, but some people inhaled the smoke.)
