Marco ha 63 anni e lavora in una grande azienda a Milano. È un ingegnere e ha sempre lavorato molto. Tra pochi mesi . Per lui è un grande cambiamento.

Marco pensa spesso alla sua nuova vita. Non dovrà più prendere il treno la mattina presto e più . Vuole avere una giornata tranquilla: al mattino legge il giornale, poi fa una passeggiata al parco. Una o due volte alla settimana vuole fare in un centro per anziani: li aiuta a usare il computer e il telefono.

Marco is 63 years old and works for a large company in Milan. He is an engineer and has always worked hard. In a few months he will retire, which will be a big change for him.

Marco often thinks about his new life. He won’t have to catch the early morning train anymore and he’ll have more free time. He wants relaxed days: in the morning he reads the newspaper and then goes for a walk in the park. Once or twice a week he would like to volunteer at a senior center, helping people use their computers and phones.

Marco and his wife have been saving for many years. Now they have the opportunity to travel more. They will probably spend a few months each year by the sea, in a small town in Liguria. Marco also has a personal goal: to improve his Italian and talk more with the neighbors. He always says, “In retirement I don’t want to be alone; I want to take up new activities and meet new people.”
