The gerund, the three conjugations
Il gerundio è un tempo verbale che esprime un'azione in corso.
- Il gerundio dei verbi in "-are" si forma con la base + "-ando".
- Il gerundio dei verbi in "-ere, -ire" si forma con la base + "-endo".
- Il gerundio serve per formare il presente progressivo; si forma con il verbo "stare" + gerundio.

Exceptions!
- I verbi riflessivi aggiungono "si" prima di "stare".
- Esempio: "sposarsi" -> "si stanno sposando"
