In estate, molti Italiani vanno in vacanza in Sud Italia per la bellezza delle spiagge, del mare o per il cibo.
In summer, many Italians go on holiday to southern Italy for the beauty of the beaches, the sea, or the food.

Two friends run into each other by chance at Milan Malpensa Airport and talk about their vacations
1. Pietro: Federica? (Federica?)
2. Federica: Pietro, ciao! Anche tu parti? (Pietro, hi! Are you leaving too?)
3. Pietro: Sì! Abbiamo il volo tra poco per Napoli. Andiamo in Costiera Amalfitana. (Yes! Our flight to Naples is in a little while. We're going to the Amalfi Coast.)
4. Federica: Che bello! Andate dai tuoi zii? (How nice! Are you going to your uncles' place?)
5. Pietro: Sì, stiamo con loro i primi quattro giorni, poi ci spostiamo in Cilento per altri cinque giorni. E tu invece? (Yes, we're staying with them for the first four days, then we're moving to Cilento for another five days. And you?)
6. Federica: Io vado in Sardegna da un'amica, Giulia. Ha una casa vicino alla spiaggia, in Costa Smeralda. (I'm going to Sardinia to stay with a friend, Giulia. She has a house near the beach, in Costa Smeralda.)
7. Pietro: Dai! Che fortuna avere un'amica con la casa lì! (Come on! How lucky to have a friend with a house there!)
8. Federica: Eh sì! Abbiamo voglia di mare e di riposo, per rilassarci un po'. (Oh yes! We feel like having the sea and getting some rest, to relax a bit.)
9. Pietro: Anch'io. Ho scelto il Cilento proprio perché è tranquillo e poco affollato. (Me too. I chose Cilento precisely because it's quiet and not very crowded.)
10. Federica: Fate anche qualche escursione? (Are you also doing some excursions?)
11. Pietro: Sì, abbiamo già preparato un piccolo itinerario con una guida turistica: visitiamo Positano e Amalfi. (Yes, we've already put together a small itinerary with a tour guide: we're visiting Positano and Amalfi.)
12. Federica: Che meraviglia! Poi mi racconti tutto quando torni. (How wonderful! Then tell me everything when you get back.)
13. Pietro: Certo! E mandami qualche foto dalla Sardegna. (Of course! And send me some photos from Sardinia.)
