The tenses of the verb "werden" (present, simple past, present perfect)
Get your bookThe verb ‘werden’ is used in the present, simple past, and present perfect, mostly to express passive states or actions. Examples: ‘ich werde’, ‘ich wurde’, ‘ich bin geworden’.
- The present tense form often expresses an active action in the future.
- The simple past and present perfect forms express passive actions or events.

Exceptions!
- In the present perfect, ‘werden’ is formed with the past participle ‘geworden’.
