Sind Sie verheiratet, wird oft die verlangt; sind Sie geschieden, benötigen Sie die . Leben Sie getrennt, geben Sie das bitte im Formular an. For an appointment with a notary (e.g., a purchase agreement or power of attorney), you must provide proof of your marital status. Bring your ID card or passport for this. If you are married, the marriage certificate is often required; if you are divorced, you need the divorce documents. If you live separately, please indicate this on the form. If you have questions about visas or foreign documents, the law office will inform you in advance.

The form may also ask for information about your family: Do you have children, do you live together with your partner, or are you a single parent? This information helps the notary prepare the correct texts. If you are unsure what a question refers to, ask, so that no mistakes occur on the day of signing.
