Dit is de belangrijkste oorzaak van stress voor vakantie: te veel spullen in een te kleine koffer. (This is the main cause of stress before a holiday: too many things in a suitcase that is too small.)
Gelukkig zijn er tips om je koffer goed in te pakken. (Fortunately, there are tips for packing your suitcase properly.)
Neem bij kleding spullen mee die je makkelijk kunt combineren. (Take clothing items that are easy to mix and match.)
Als je je kleding oprolt, past het compacter en krijg je minder kreukels. (If you roll your clothes, they take up less space and crease less.)
In mijn toilettas neem ik zoveel mogelijk kleine flesjes mee. (In my toiletry bag I bring as many small bottles as possible.)
Je hebt van die kleine flesjes waar je shampoo of zeep in kunt doen. Heel handig! (There are those small bottles you can put shampoo or soap in. Very handy!)
Het is ook de juiste hoeveelheid, dus je mag ze mee door de douane nemen. (They’re also the right size, so you can take them through airport security.)
Een laatste tip: soms is de verpakking te groot, haal de spullen dan gewoon uit de verpakking. (One last tip: sometimes the packaging is too big, so just remove the items from it.)
In plaats van veel boeken en tijdschriften, neem ik alles op mijn e-reader mee. (Instead of bringing many books and magazines, I put everything on my e-reader.)
Mijn telefoonoplader en oortjes doe ik in een brillenkoker, zo zijn ze veilig. (I put my phone charger and earphones in an eyeglass case so they’re safe.)
Het grote moment! Kijken of alles in mijn koffer past. Het is gelukt! De koffer is dicht en ik kan rustig op vakantie gaan. (The big moment! Check if everything fits in my suitcase. It worked! The suitcase is closed and I can relax and go on holiday.)

Exercise 2: Dialogue

Instruction: Read the dialogue and answer the questions.

Jurre en Fenne zijn broer en zus. Ze gaan morgen op vakantie en pakken samen hun koffers in.

Jurre and Fenne are brother and sister. They are going on holiday tomorrow and are packing their suitcases together.
1. Jurre: Ik ben mijn koffer aan het inpakken, maar hij is al bijna vol. (I am packing my suitcase, but it is almost full already.)
2. Fenne: Wat heb je allemaal ingepakt, Jurre? Misschien neem je te veel mee. (What have you packed, Jurre? Maybe you are taking too much.)
3. Jurre: Ik heb drie handdoeken en twee zwembroeken in mijn koffer gedaan. (I put three towels and two swimsuits in my suitcase.)
4. Fenne: Dat is wel veel. Je kunt beter maar één handdoek meenemen. (That is quite a lot. You better take only one towel.)
5. Jurre: Misschien heb je gelijk. Mijn zonnebril en pet heb ik nog niet ingepakt. (Maybe you are right. I haven't packed my sunglasses and cap yet.)
6. Fenne: Die zijn echt belangrijk! En vergeet je ondergoed niet. Misschien past dat in je rugzak? (Those are really important! And don't forget your underwear. Maybe that fits in your backpack?)
7. Jurre: Goede tip! Maar mijn rugzak is al vol met toiletspullen en kleine dingen. (Good tip! But my backpack is already full with toiletries and small things.)
8. Fenne: Je kunt die spullen anders in mijn handtas doen, samen met dingen die je snel nodig hebt. (You could put those things in my handbag, together with things you need quickly.)
9. Jurre: Slim! Ik stop dan ook mijn telefoonoplader en mobiel in de handtas. (Clever! I will then also put my phone charger and mobile in the handbag.)
10. Fenne: Eigenlijk zijn dat mijn spullen dan. Zo word ik steeds rijker! (Actually, those are my things then. That way I keep getting richer!)
