In Nederland reizen veel mensen met het openbaar vervoer. Vaak fietsen ze naar het station en stallen de fiets daar. Bij veel stations zijn fietsenstallingen met een bewaker of met sloten. In een bewaakte fietsenstalling staat je fiets veiliger en soms kun je je fiets daar ook laten repareren.

Bij de meeste bewaakte stallingen is de eerste 24 uur gratis. Daarna betaal je volgens de tarieven. Je kunt ook een abonnement nemen, bijvoorbeeld een jaarabonnement. Dat is handig als je vaak dezelfde stalling gebruikt.

Fietsen naar het station en verder reizen met de trein is vaak duurzaam en beter voor het milieu dan reizen met de auto. Zo kies je een groene manier van vervoer voor je dagelijkse rit.
