Bij alle autoverhuurbedrijven moet je eerst een borg betalen. (At all car rental companies, you must first pay a deposit.)
Je krijgt een mooie, nieuwe auto mee. We willen dat je er goed mee omgaat. (You are getting a nice, new car. We want you to take good care of it.)
Helaas leveren sommige huurders de auto beschadigd terug. Een ongeluk is snel gebeurd. (Unfortunately, some renters return the car damaged. An accident can happen quickly.)
Gelukkig hebben wij een verzekering, maar er geldt altijd een eigen risico, net als bij je eigen verzekering. (Fortunately, we have insurance, but there is always a deductible, just like with your own insurance.)
Bij schade is het eigen risico standaard 750 euro. (In case of damage, the excess is standard 750 euros.)
Vind je dat te hoog? Voor 9 euro per dag kun je het eigen risico verlagen naar 350 euro. (Do you find that too high? For 9 euros per day you can lower the excess to 350 euros.)
De borg is hetzelfde bedrag als jouw gekozen eigen risico. (The deposit is the same amount as your chosen excess.)
Kies je geen verlaging, dan is de borg 750 euro. (If you do not choose a reduction, the deposit is 750 euros.)
Kies je wel voor verlaging, dan is de borg 350 euro. (If you do choose a reduction, the deposit is 350 euros.)
Breng je de auto zonder schade en zonder extra kosten terug? Dan krijg je de borg meteen terug op je rekening of kredietkaart. (Do you return the car without damage and without extra costs? Then you will immediately get the deposit back on your account or credit card.)
Zo kun je veilig je huurcontract afsluiten. (This way you can safely sign your rental contract.)

Businessman Raf rents a car for a work visit
1. Raf: Goedemiddag, ik heb een auto online gehuurd voor drie dagen. (Good afternoon, I rented a car online for three days.)
2. Madelief: Goedemiddag, meneer. Mag ik uw rijbewijs en de reservering even zien? (Good afternoon, sir. May I see your driver's license and the reservation?)
3. Raf: Natuurlijk, hier zijn ze. Kunt u mij ook uitleggen hoe de verzekering werkt? (Of course, here they are. Can you also explain to me how the insurance works?)
