De video geeft je praktische tips voor het reizen via Schiphol. De luchthaven ligt op de bodem van het vroegere Haarlemmermeer en is daarmee de op één na laagstgelegen luchthaven ter wereld.
The video gives you practical tips for travelling via Schiphol. The airport is located on the bottom of the former Haarlemmermeer and is therefore the second-lowest airport in the world.

Reis je alleen met een minderjarig kind? Zorg dan dat je een toestemmingsformulier bij je hebt. (Are you travelling alone with a minor child? Then make sure you have a consent form with you.)
Je kunt dit formulier thuis al online downloaden, net zoals je kunt online inchecken. (You can download this form online at home already, just as you can check in online.)
Houd je boardingpass altijd bij de hand, ook bij de bagagecontrole. (Always keep your boarding pass at hand, also at the baggage check.)
Na de controle kun je in de terminal wachten op je vlucht. (After the check you can wait in the terminal for your flight.)
Groet altijd de piloot bij het binnengaan van het vliegtuig. Sluit je veiligheidsgordel en ga lekker zitten. Fijne vlucht! (Always greet the pilot when boarding the airplane. Fasten your seat belt and sit back comfortably. Have a nice flight!)

2. Aniek: Ja, bijna zeker, maar ik wil nog één keer controleren. (Yes, almost certainly, but I want to check one more time.)
3. Koen: Goed plan. Ik weet dat de paspoortcontrole druk kan zijn. (Good plan. I know that passport control can be busy.)
4. Aniek: Ja, vorige keer stond ik daar twintig minuten in de rij. (Yes, last time I stood in line there for twenty minutes.)

Task: Noteer bij de eerstvolgende vertrekkende vlucht de bestemming, vertrektijd en of de gate open of gesloten is.

(For the next departing flight, write down the destination, departure time, and whether the gate is open or closed.)

URL: Vertrekkende vluchten

Op Schiphol kun je bij Vertrek zien welke vluchten vandaag vertrekken. In de lijst staat per vlucht de Bestemming en de Originele vertrektijd. Soms staat er een verwachte tijd als de vlucht vertraagd is. Bij elke vlucht staat de Vluchtstatus. Bijvoorbeeld: Gate geopend, Gate sluit, Gate gesloten of Boarden gestart.

Voorbeeld: er zijn vluchten om 14:35 naar La Palma, Newcastle en Oslo. Om 14:40 vertrekken vluchten naar Paris de Gaulle en Minneapolis. Later op de middag zijn er vluchten naar Madrid en New York JFK. Als je reist, is het belangrijk dat je de juiste vlucht volgt en op tijd bij de gate bent.
