This weekend there's a family day at Diergaarde Blijdorp in Rotterdam. In the morning visitors walk along the savanna. There they see lions, zebras and giraffes. The landscape is dry and reminds you of Africa. Later they go to the tropical section. In that hall it is warm and humid, with many plants, birds and monkeys. The children especially admire the elephants.

All practical information is available on the zoo's website. Everyone can buy tickets online and reserve a parking space. There's also a map: it shows exactly where each animal is. That way no one gets separated. At the end of the day they have a drink together on the terrace and talk about their favourite type of animal.
