Are you going to study at a university in the Netherlands? First you choose a programme. Many students start with a bachelor’s degree and then continue with a master’s degree. You attend lectures and take courses; at the end of a course there is often an exam. If you earn enough credits, you pass and can later receive your diploma.

Many programmes also include an internship. During the internship you work at a company or organisation and practise important skills. Last week an intern in our department said that he failed an exam last year. He retook the exam later and passed. Now he wants to graduate and further develop in his field.
