Chaque matin, notre rédaction sélectionne et prépare pour l'édition numérique. Avant de une dépêche, nous recoupons les sources et citons clairement les documents, les lecteurs comprennent d'où viennent les faits. Le relit aussi les titres, de crainte qu'une erreur ne se propage.
Nous publions davantage d'enquêtes et de témoignages, car beaucoup de lecteurs disent s'informer d'abord via les réseaux sociaux. Nous encourageons donc chacun à comparer plusieurs articles avant de : une circule vite, surtout quand une chronique est partagée sans contexte. Notre rubrique sera mise à jour ce soir après la conférence de presse.Every morning, our newsroom selects the news and prepares the front page for the digital edition. Before posting a news report online, we cross-check sources and clearly cite the documents, so that readers understand where the facts come from. The editor-in-chief also rereads the headlines, for fear that a mistake might spread.
We publish more investigations and eyewitness accounts, because many readers say they get their news first via social networks. We therefore encourage everyone to compare several articles before commenting: a piece of fake news spreads quickly, especially when a column is shared without context. Our business section will be updated this evening after the press conference.

Pour la pause-déjeuner de jeudi, nous organisons une petite discussion (30 min) sur comment on suit l'actualité au bureau. L'idée est de comparer nos habitudes : presse en ligne, réseaux sociaux, podcasts, etc., et de parler des rubriques que l'on lit (économie, culture, sport…).
Nous avons eu un cas où une infox a circulé sur le chat. Peux-tu proposer 2 ou 3 règles simples pour vérifier une information, afin que cela n'arrive plus ? Et dis-moi si tu peux venir.

Merci pour ton message. Je peux venir jeudi et je trouve l'idée très utile. Personnellement, je consulte la presse en ligne le matin et j'écoute parfois des podcasts le soir ; je lis surtout les rubriques économie et culture.
Pour éviter qu'une infox circule, je propose trois règles simples : vérifier la source et la date, comparer l'information avec au moins deux médias différents, et chercher l'article original ou une source officielle. On peut aussi toujours partager le lien dans le chat pour que chacun vérifie.
Veux-tu que je prépare un petit exemple concret pour lancer la discussion ?

Thank you for your message. I can come on Thursday and I find the idea very useful. Personally, I check the online press in the morning and I sometimes listen to podcasts in the evening; I mostly read the economy and culture sections.
To avoid misinformation circulating, I suggest three simple rules: check the source and the date, compare the information with at least two different media outlets, and look for the original article or an official source. We can also always share the link in the chat so that everyone can check.
