Vanaf volgende maand past StreamNL de podcastpagina aan. Luisteraars krijgen per serie een duidelijk overzicht van het per en kunnen sneller een maken met hun favoriete thema’s, zoals sport, geschiedenis of werk en carrière. Een aflevering kan ook beschikbaar worden gemaakt; handig voor in de trein. Bij lange series zie je bovendien de minimale en maximale duur van de afleveringen, zodat je makkelijker kiest wat past bij je dag.

De dienst benadrukt dat het beleid rond en voor artiesten en makers gelijk blijft: als jij , wordt er een deel van de opbrengst verdeeld via bestaande contracten. Wel verandert de manier waarop worden getoond. De app kijkt meer naar genre en eerdere keuzes. Sommige gebruikers zijn daar blij mee, anderen kunnen het niet omdat ze bang zijn dat ze steeds dezelfde soort content krijgen. Wie dat wil, kan aanbevelingen uitzetten in de instellingen.

Listeners will see, for each series, a clear overview of the number of listens per episode and will be able to create a playlist more quickly with their favorite topics, such as sports, history or work and career. An episode can also be made available offline — handy for the train. For long series you will also see the minimum and maximum duration of episodes, so you can more easily choose what fits your day.

The service stresses that the policy on rights and payment for artists and creators remains the same: if you stream, a portion of the revenue is distributed under existing contracts. What does change is the way suggestions are presented. The app pays more attention to genre and previous choices. Some users are pleased with that; others dislike it because they worry they will keep getting the same kind of content. Anyone who wants to can turn off recommendations in the settings.

Leuk idee! Ik heb een voorkeur voor muziek tijdens de treinreis, omdat dat achtergrondgeluid geeft en je makkelijk met collega’s kunt kletsen. Mijn voorkeur gaat uit naar pop en rustige elektronische muziek. Je kunt bijvoorbeeld nummers van Eefje de Visser en Stromae toevoegen.

Als alternatief: korte podcastafleveringen (maximaal 30–40 minuten) over wetenschap of technologie in het dagelijks leven, bijvoorbeeld afleveringen van "De Universiteit van Nederland" of "Techpod".

Nice idea! I prefer music during the train journey because it provides a pleasant background and makes it easy to chat with colleagues. My preference is pop and mellow electronic music. For example, you could add songs by Eefje de Visser and Stromae.
