Omdat er minder bezoekers kwamen, was er extra geld nodig om het museum te laten voortbestaan. (Because fewer visitors came, extra money was needed to let the museum continue to exist.)
De regering heeft besloten dit geld te geven, waardoor het museum nu officieel een Rijksmuseum is geworden. (The government has decided to give this money, which means the museum has now officially become a national museum.)
De staat zorgt er vanaf nu voor dat het kunstwerk met bijna twee miljoen euro per jaar wordt beschermd. (From now on, the state will ensure that the artwork is protected with almost two million euros per year.)

Het Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam heeft een grote collectie met meer dan een miljoen kunstwerken, publicaties en bezoekersverhalen. Je kunt online zoeken wat er nu te zien is en welke highlights er zijn. Voor je bezoek koop je Rijksmuseum tickets. Het museum is elke dag open van 9 tot 17 uur. Vandaag open betekent dat je ook last minute kunt gaan.
