Exercise 1: Match a word

Beste bewoners,

Volgende maand start het schilderwerk aan de galerijen. De VvE vraagt om het balkonbeeld rustig en netjes te houden. Kies bij voorkeur neutrale kleuren die passen bij het gebouw. Grote plantenbakken zijn toegestaan, zolang ze veilig en de doorgang niet blokkeren. Een loshangend over de reling is niet toegestaan. Wie nieuwe of wil plaatsen, let erop dat het geheel bij het van de woning én bij het gebouw past.

Bij de vorige ronde hadden we meer controleren op losse schroeven in op balkons; dat is blijven liggen. Bewoners hadden ook eerder melden dat er weinig is, zodat we samen naar oplossingen hadden kunnen zoeken.

Next month the painting work on the galleries will start. The Owners’ Association asks to keep the balcony appearance calm and tidy. Preferably choose neutral colors that match the building. Large planters are allowed, as long as they hang securely and do not block the passageway. A loose-hanging rug over the railing is not allowed. Anyone who wants to put up new curtains or wall decoration should make sure that the whole thing matches the interior of the home as well as the building.

In the previous round we should have checked more for loose screws in wooden furniture on balconies; that was left undone. Residents also could have reported earlier that there is little storage space, so that we could have looked for solutions together.

Hoi Noor,

Leuk dat je dinsdag langskomt! De woonkamer is vrij minimalistisch: lichte muren, een grijs tapijt en vooral houten meubels. Ik heb één grote ladekast met wat wanddecoratie erboven. De gordijnen zijn donkerblauw, dat past goed bij de bank en de kussens.

Je koffer kun je kwijt in de hal, onder de plank bij de kapstok. In de logeerkamer is ook opbergruimte in de ladekast. Ik had eigenlijk nog een extra plank willen ophangen, maar dat is nog niet gelukt. Een dun kussen is dus handig als je dat fijner vindt; ik heb ook een extra kussen voor je.

Nice that you’re coming by on Tuesday! The living room is quite minimalist: light walls, a gray rug, and mostly wooden furniture. I have one large chest of drawers with some wall decoration above it. The curtains are dark blue; that goes well with the couch and the cushions.

You can store your suitcase in the hallway, under the shelf by the coat rack. There’s also storage space in the guest room in the chest of drawers. I actually still wanted to put up an extra shelf, but I haven’t managed to yet. So a thin pillow is handy if you prefer that; I also have an extra pillow for you.
